Sugar from Germany, Oman and India, basmati from India, olive oil from Syria, Jordan and Palestine — imported into Al Ain from 14 countries.
Every product on our shelves has a country it is best known for, and we buy from that country. Sugar comes from Germany, Oman, UAE and India. Red kidney beans come from Brazil. Basmati rice comes from India. Coffee beans come from India, Brazil and Indonesia — we roast and grind them into Turkish coffee ourselves at our factory in Al Ain, rather than importing it ready-made. Chocolates and burghol come from Turkey. Salt and white beans come from Egypt and Saudi Arabia, olive oil from Syria, Jordan and Palestine, chick peas from Mexico, blackeye beans from Madagascar and green lentils from Canada.
Importing is our core licensed activity. It means a buyer in the UAE can order rice, sugar, pulses, oil, salt, coffee and chocolates from one supplier in Al Ain, rather than dealing with a separate importer for each.
